Letters: Actions bring up big question -- Is Surprise a gestapo?

This has to do with Rebekah Massie’s arrest. Upon reading the article in the Independent of Aug. 28, Rebekah’s First Amendment Constitutional rights were clearly violated.
She posed no physical threat to the City Council nor to others in the audience when she simply expressed her opinion. The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution provides freedom of speech, press and opinion to all Americans.
The actions of Mayor Skip Hall and the police who took her into custody were acting as a Fascist Gestapo. Makes me wonder: Is Surprise a gestapo?
