Letters: Massie was bad example in front of 10-year-old daughter

Posted

It’s apparent Rebekah Massie went to the Aug. 20 City Council meeting fully intending to cause a scene and bait the mayor and council.

“The Supreme Court has upheld, I could get up here, and I could swear at you for three straight minutes, and it is protected speech by the Supreme Court,” she said.

“In front of my 10-year-old daughter, you’re gonna escort me out for expressing my First Amendment rights?” Massie asked.

How appalling to use her daughter as a political pawn.

She could register her complaint and leave. But she didn’t and resisted arrest.

My next communication will be to (mayor-elect) Kevin Sartor. I’m concerned about his role in this.
