Desert Farm Lights back to illuminate nights near Surprise

1 million lights expected at 3rd annual holiday event

Desert Farm Lights is returning to illuminate the West Valley with over one million twinkling lights, countless family-friendly activities, festive live entertainment offerings and more.

This year’s event starts Friday, Nov. 22 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 29 at Justice Brothers Ranch, 14629 W. Peoria Ave., Waddell.

Founded in 2022 by West Valley blogger and mother Shanelle Kunz, the ever-popular walkable holiday event will feature all-new entertainment offerings like ice skating and a Christmas ornament workshop, along with returning fan favorites like its iconic candy cane maze, train and wagon rides, as well as a 90-foot gingerbread fun slide.

“We are thrilled to bring back this incredible holiday installation and be a place where unforgettable, magical Christmas memories are made,” Kunz said.

Initially created as a high-quality, immersive holiday event close to home for West Valley families, this year’s Desert Farm Lights will feature expanded entertainment and hands-on activity offerings for guests of all ages.

Guests can expect opportunities to cozy up and roast smores over firepits, meet and greets with both Santa and the Grinch, ice skating, exclusive snow globes experiences, a 10-minute jolly train or wagon ride throughout the festively lit farm, a 90-foot fun slide, Christmas movie screenings, photo areas, a carousel and more.

The event’s popular scented candy cane maze is also returning this year with various difficulty levels for families to choose from, as well as slides of different heights to accommodate toddlers and older children.

Live entertainment offerings for 2024 will include engaging balloon storytelling by a balloon artist (on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays), live music performances (Thursdays through Sundays), and a week of live musical performances throughout the week before Christmas.

To make this holiday celebration accessible for all, Desert Farm Lights will continue to offer handicap-accessible entertainment and two low-sensory play nights to accommodate individuals with special needs. This year’s low-sensory nights will occur on Nov. 25 and 26, and will feature private sensory tents for resting and recharging, low lighting, softened music and options for a non-scented candy cane maze.

The presale ticket period for Desert Farm Lights 2024 is from now until Sept. 30 and will cost $17.25.

Prices for standard general admission will increase to $23 starting Oct. 1 for guests aged 3 and up (children aged 2 and under are free to attend). Ticket add-ons for activities are available starting Oct. 1.
