Sun City West club members learn easel card technique

Members of Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More have been dealing with October’s unseasonably warm temperatures by heading to the clubroom where they can learn how to make new styles of greeting cards in a cool environment.

During a recent Saturday morning, Club President Lynne Marion taught a large group of members how to make three different styles of easel cards. Easel cards feature a front panel that, upon opening, lifts and bends at angles so it may be displayed somewhat similarly to a framed photo, which makes it also ideal for home decoration.

For starters, Marion taught how to make the square face and the portrait style of the basic single easel card. Then, using the learned basic principles, she showed members how to make the side-angled easel card and a double easel card. As a bonus she demonstrated how to create a Z-fold addition for a completely different style of 3D card.
