Sun City temple hosts western BBQ, hoedown

Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley is hosting its second annual Western Barbecue and Hoedown fundraiser 3-5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at 12202 N. 101st Ave.

Festivities, open to all ages, will be in the social hall, chapel and outside in the Sukkah, which is a temporary structure built for the Jewish holiday, Sukkot. The barbecue will be catered by Rudy’s and activities will include a cake walk, face painting, corn hole throw and a piñata filled with goodies.

There will also be awards for the Best Dressed Cowboy and Best Dressed Cowgirl. Arrest “Wanted Posters” will be available for sale and individuals can pay the sheriff to bail friends out of jail.

Cost is $20 per adult, $10 for children under 13 and free for children under 5. Call 623-977-3240 for reservations by 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17. Credit card payments are accepted on Zeffy: https://shorturl.at/cMRGh.
