HD South will have a program July 9 on the band The Monkees.

In 1966, The Monkees debuted as a television show about a band, but their music was so catchy, they became an actual bandm and its last surviving member still tours.

Monkees super-fan Russ Kazmierczak Jr., hosts an evening of stories and pop-culture trivia.  Included are the many ways The Monkees’ history was influenced by Arizona.

Prizes and giveaways will be available to attendees, and all ages are welcome.

The free program runs from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Registration is required and closes at noon July 8.
