Gilbert native featured on GCU worship album

Posted

Gilbert native Colter Bonaroti is featured on Grand Canyon University’s Worship Arts program's recently released eighth student album, Canyon Worship 2024.

Bonaroti wrote and recorded the song “My Heart Belongs to You” along with one other student.

Only 10 songs were picked to be on this year’s album, all of which were written and performed by GCU students and recorded in the University’s recording studio.

“There were a lot of collaborations for this year’s songwriting efforts,” said Eric Johnson, GCU recording studio manager. “Students came together to collaborate on these songs, which in turn has produced some of the best songs of the Canyon Worship album catalog yet.”

Since last September, one single off the album has been released each month. The final single was released in July, making the full album now available.

In addition to releasing the album, the Worship Arts program also releases chord charts and lyric sheets so that churches can learn and use the songs.

The 10 songs and songwriters on Canyon Worship 2024 are:

  • Just One Look (Jocelyn Ruassay and Jonathan Raingruber);
  • Song of Moses (Madison Russell and Marshanna Maxwell);
  • My Surrender (Kyleigh Almich);
  • You Are Good (Abby Sorensen);
  • Home (Edwin Lopez, Trina Beecher);
  • Down to the River (Shailen Stewart, Jocelyn Ruassay and Kyleigh Almich);
  • Surrendering (Olivia Lazzarini);
  • Wait (Maclaren Keffer);
  • My Heart Belongs to You (Bonaroti and Zach Goode);
  • My Every Minute (Nicole Jasperse).

Canyon Worship 2024 was produced by music industry veterans Geoff Hunker and David Willey, who are no strangers to the album. Hunker has been producing Canyon Worship since 2016, with Willey joining in 2019.

The album is available for streaming on Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music.
