Surprise to temporarily close dog parks for enhancements

Posted

Surprise Community Dog Park will be temporarily closed Oct. 7 to 21, affecting both the large and small dog parks.

The dog park will reopen at 6 a.m. on Oct. 22.

Enhancements include improved access from the tennis parking lot and grading to ensure a level, even surface throughout the area.

Additionally, the irrigation system will be upgraded to promote long-term health and vitality of the grass.

During this time, the city suggests using Dick McComb Dog Park, 17894 W. Westpark Blvd.

Dick McComb Park is closed for regularly scheduled maintenance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays.
