Dysart Unified School District is named on the Forbes list of America’s Best-In-State Employers for the second year in a row.

Forbes and Statista Inc. announced the award on Aug. 20 on the Forbes website. Dysart is one of only four K through 12 school districts listed among the 75 employers in Arizona.

“We would not be able to do the critical work of serving students without our Dysart employees,” said DUSD Superintendent John Croteau. “As an ‘A’-rated district, we clearly have a remarkable staff focusing on the success of our students. We are honored to be on this prestigious list, and thank our dedicated employees for selflessly giving each and every day.”

America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024 were identified in an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S.

The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Around 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered, using data from a period of three years.

An employer’s final score is determined on a state-by-state basis and is built upon two types of employee evaluations, both personal and public.

Dysart Schools is an “A”-rated district that employs more than 2,700 staff members at 26 schools and two support sites.

Dysart’s starting salary for a new teacher is one of the highest in the Valley, and hard-to-fill stipends are available for SPED, math and science teachers. Employees have additional earning power through employee referrals and other opportunities.

It is the largest employer in the cities of Surprise and El Mirage, and has been recognized as one of the Best Companies to work for by both Zippia and TalentDesk.
