Surprise intersection to have traffic signal go live

Posted

The city of Surprise has completed work to install a new traffic signal at the intersection of Prasada Parkway and Alexandria Way.

The traffic signal will be activated at 6 a.m. on Friday, June 28.

The new traffic signal will flash red for up to seven weeks before transitioning to normal operation by approximately the second week of August.

During the time that the light is flashing red, the city will collect traffic data to develop a plan for signal timing.

Motorists should be mindful of this traffic control change and treat the flashing red lights the same as a four-way intersection with stop signs.
