Candidates endorsed at Republican Assembly meeting in Sun City

Posted

Several candidates for office were endorsed at a recent meeting of the Northwest Maricopa County Chapter of the Arizona Republican Assembly.

This included Trent Franks, candidate for U.S. representatives in Congressional District 8; Susan Black, candidate for Legislative District 28, Arizona state representative; and Lisa Fink, candidate for Legislative District 27, Arizona state representative.

The Northwest Maricopa County Chapter meets the first Tuesday of every month at the West Valley offices of Republicans and Independents, 10147 W. Grand Ave., suite B-4.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Due to a fire in a neighboring business, the office suffered serious smoke damage and will not re-open until mid to late July, so the July meeting has been canceled. The next meeting is Aug. 6.

This chapter has members from Waddell, Buckeye, Surprise, Sun City West, Glendale, Peoria, Avondale, Sun City and beyond.

Its mission is to educate voters and to provide attendees the chance to meet face-to-face with candidates, to monitor proposed legislation and then to provide legislators and members with a “real time” scorecard for sitting state legislators.

The scorecard committee consists of statewide AZRA members, not just the Northwest chapter.

Visit azraaz.org or contact chapter secretary John Schalk at jschalk7@sbcglobal.net for information.
