The Sun City West Tennis Club is partnering with the HART (Helping At Risk Teens) Pantry to recycle old sneakers, which in turn provides HART with needed funding. HART receives $1 for each pair of recycled shoes.

HART began in 2011 as a mission of the First Presbyterian Church of Peoria. It provides weekend food bags to teens in the West Valley who don’t have enough food to eat when they are not in school on weekends. Gotsneakers? is a nationwide sneaker recycling organization.

Residents can place the shoes in the containers at the tennis courts, by the dog parks, on the lower level by the bulletin board.

Residents who cannot make it down can call Joel 402-850-6639 to arrange for a pick up. Sun City West clubs interested in getting involved can also contact the club. Visit hartpantry.org
