Motorcyclist dies after colliding with tree off Cave Creek Road

A 42-year-old man is dead after the motorcycle he was operating left the road in the 14600 block of North Cave Creek Road and crashed into a tree.

The north Phoenix collision occurred about 8 p.m. June 28. Police officers responded to the area and found Christopher Schmidt dead at the scene.

Initial information indicates Schmidt was driving north on Cave Creek Road when he lost control of the motorcycle, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
