82-year-old man dies after fire engulfs truck in Phoenix

Posted

An 82-year-old man died at a hospital over the weekend after he was pulled from a truck that caught fire.

Marchell Larson was driving north on 7th Street about 10 a.m. June 29 when the bed of his truck caught fire, police said.

While passing Dunlap Avenue, witnesses told authorities the truck, engulfed in flames, crashed into a wall, according to a release from the Phoenix Police Department.

A witness removed Larson from the truck before Phoenix Fire Department personnel arrived to extinguish the fire and take Larson to a hospital where he later died, police said.

The cause of the fire and victim’s death remain under investigation.
