1-year-old drowns in family swimming pool: Phoenix PD

A 1-year-old boy drowned Tuesday afternoon after falling into his family’s swimming pool in north Phoenix, police said.

Officers were called about 1:30 p.m. July 2 to a house in the neighborhood of 29th Avenue and Villa Maria Drive and found fire personnel providing the toddler with emergency care. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died.

Detectives took over the investigation.
