Ozer: Don’t let the nonsense dissuade you from voting

Posted

For almost 40 years my husband Jay and I have been proud to live in a town where we have a plethora of devoted residents who selflessly serve the town in leadership positions. We currently have two admired and respectful leaders choosing to devote their valuable time to serve as our mayor.

Both Anna Thomasson and Mark Stanton are my friends, and I have the utmost respect for both. Thus, I have maintained neutrality on the upcoming mayoral election. From the very beginning, Mark and Anna agreed to play nice in the sandbox. And, indeed, they have. They are colleagues and friends. Respectful and ethical.

Until now I have refrained from commenting on the shenanigans perpetrated by individuals not in the race who have chosen to spread falsehoods and inuendo via emails and newsletters about one of the candidates. This, undoubtedly intended to create friction between my friends and cause division amongst neighbors. I hoped it would stop. It has not.

I encourage you to not let this nonsense dissuade you from voting. Do your own research. Contact the candidates if you wish clarification. Whether Anna or Mark becomes our next mayor, I am certain that the Town of Paradise Valley will be well served.  Your vote does count.
