Lunching for Love: Child Crisis Arizona hosts fundraiser at Biltmore

Posted

Child Crisis Arizona is hosting their annual Lunch for Love fundraising luncheon at the Arizona Biltmore Oct. 15.

The luncheon will help raise money for Child Crisis Arizona’s new Center for Child & Family Wellness in Mesa opening in September.

Attendees of the luncheon will be able to learn more about the resources Child Crisis Arizona offers to families in need and hear firsthand accounts from those who have benefited from their support.

Child Crisis Arizona’s donors are what make the work they do and their new campus possible, said Torrie Taj, CEO of Child Crisis Arizona.

“Their generosity has allowed us to realize the vision of a centralized campus, providing crucial wraparound services for children and families in need across the state of Arizona,” Taj said.

The new Center for Child & Family Wellness will provide essential resources and support to strengthen families and improve the well-being of children in the community.

“It will serve as a hub for the agency’s health and education services, ensuring a holistic approach to child and family support,” Taj said.

Once open, the center will provide the greater Phoenix community with much needed family resources such as counseling, parenting classes, and child enrichment activities, according to Taj.

“This Center for Child & Family Wellness represents a vital investment in our community, offering crucial support and resources that empower children and families to thrive,” Taj said.

With help from Child Crisis Arizona’s community partners, the center has a variety of spaces to help enrich the lives of families in need.

Facility amenities include: Education rooms, health and community wellness area, art and music therapy space, counseling support center with sensory and play therapy rooms, and a foster care and adoption wing.

Brodie Hurtado, an adoptive parent of two young girls in need, said the resources and specialists at Child Crisis Arizona made adoption possible for his family.

“Having a specialist with Child Crisis Arizona was pivotal for us,” Hurtado said.
