Westside Blues, Jazz and More at 17045 N. 59th Ave., Glendale, has several shows scheduled for the long Fourth of July weekend. Those performances include:

  • Honest Soulz from Phoenix performs from 7:30-11 p.m. Friday, July 5. Their Valley shows feature classic R&B, funk, soul and a variety of top 40 music, past and present. This band began as a mother (Mildred Hayes) and son (Abram Moore) duo and incorporated other members. Abe Moore is also a songwriter, and some of his original work is beginning to be included in their playlist.
  • Big Daddy D and the Dynamites performs from 7:30-11 p.m. Saturday, July 6. This blues band was established in Prescott in 1999 and dedicated to covering the blues masters such as BB King, Freddie King or Buddy Guy and spread out to include soul, swing and jazz in their repertoire. The band's most well known players include Freddie Cisneros, Roger Smith, Bob Sellani and Ray DeSylvestor, all Hall of Fame inductees or nominees and Darryl himself has been nominated for the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame three times over the years.

  • Robert Parker Jr. Trio are in for one night only, from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, June 7. Parker Jr. picked up the guitar in 2013. Raised by rock enthusiasts as well as being accompanied by his triple-threat older sister, Robert has been surrounded by music his entire life. Heavily influenced by the blues, Parker bridges the gap between American roots and psychedelic jam bands of old with his licks and vocals. Robert moved to Austin, Texas in 2021 with his partner Jen. They were immediately embraced by the community, frequenting open mics and playing eight to 10 shows a week.

Doors open at 6 p.m. July 5 and 6 and at 2 p.m. July 7.  Reservations are only held until start of music. Westside features open seating first come first served. There is a two drink minimum per guest.
