Van West: Duckworth gets my vote for school board

Posted

As a retired teacher and friend, I enthusiastically endorse Kim Duckworth for the board of the Fountain Hills Unified School District in the Nov. 5 election.

Kim is a mother of two boys, an advocate of quality education, and an energetic community member. Kim’s youngest son attends school within FHUSD. When elected, Kim will be a valuable board member. She has shared her goals with me. She plans to be committed to academic excellence, family participation and she believes that financial transparency is necessary within the school district.

Her educational background, as well as her successful career, convinced me that she is prepared to be a dedicated board member. As an advocate for children and the schools, she also volunteered as a PTO co-president.

Personally, I am always amazed at Kim’s experience, enthusiasm and her ability to commit to a project and see it through to its completion. I know she will be an advocate for children, families, teachers and the Fountain Hills community. Therefore, Kim Duckworth deserves our vote in November!
