Foundation offers free backpacks to Queen Creek, San Tan Valley students

Students in Queen Creek and San Tan Valley can kick off the new school year with a free backpack filled with school supplies courtesy of the Mary Gloria Foundation’s Back2School Blitz.

Through Friday, June 28, parents must register at bit.ly/MGF-Back2SchoolBlitz to receive brand new backpacks for their kids. The packs will be filled with pencils, pens, notebooks, glue sticks, crayons, rulers and more.

After securing a spot through registration, the San Tan Valley foundation, formerly called Pan de Vida, will send registrants an invitation to pick up the backpacks and supplies on Saturday, July 13. The invitation will include the time and location.

“This helps avoid (the) traffic of hundreds of children arriving at once,” Theresa G. Palma, director of the Mary Gloria Foundation, stated in an email.
