RCSCW board looking at visitor and guest fee structure

Recreation Centers of Sun City West Governing Board members have received complaints about some non-residents using rec center facilities by improperly using membership cards.

Currently the RCSCW has a owner-resident, associate, tenant and guest fees for using the facilities.

There have been accusation that some people who rent out their homes, especially for short term periods, let the renters use their membership cards.

The governing board has tasked Bill Schwind, RCSCW general manager, to investigate the accusations and determine better ways to handle situations.

At the March 8 governing board workshop meeting Mr. Schwind proposed raising the guest frees from $3.50 per day to $5, and also developing a special 14-day guest pass. Some board members thought the fee should be higher than $5.

Mr. Schwind will explore the issuer further and report back to the governing board at their April 12 workshop meeting.

Further details on this story will be in the March 20 issue of the Sun City West Independent.
