October brings back free movies at Kiwanis Park

Tempe’s free movie series, Movies in the Park, is back on Friday nights this October with three weeks of family-friendly movies leading up to the special Family Boo Bash event on Oct. 25.
Pack a picnic dinner, grab a blanket and head over to Kiwanis Park to watch classic movies under the stars this fall, a city release stated. Movies begin at dusk, approximately 6 p.m., on the north soccer fields at Kiwanis Park, Baseline Road and Ash Avenue (just west of Mill Avenue).
Come early to reserve your spot and hang out with the Tempe Play Mobile for fun pre-movie activities, the release noted

Movies this October are:
Friday, Oct. 4: “Wonka”
Friday, Oct. 11: “The Goonies”
Friday, Oct. 18: “Casper”
Friday, Oct. 25: “Hotel Transylvania”
Tempe's Family BOO Bash fall festival will run 6-10 p.m. on Oct. 25, featuring a costume parade and contest at 7 p.m. and the movie screening at 8 p.m. Admission is free.
Activities include train rides, face painting and dance party. Food concessions and carnival games will be available for purchase, hosted by nonprofits, according to the release.
