The Surprise Walmart Supercenter at 13770 W. Bell Road recently celebrated its grand re-opening following a transformative remodel.

The supercenter’s manager and associates held a community celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion, which included the unveiling of a new community-focused mural and the presentation of $3,000 in grants to local organizations including to Arizona FC, Hadleys Hope, Rae Rae of Light, Benevilla and Trilogy Veterans Club.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guests were invited inside to see the transformation and sample products from Walmart vendors.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome our customers back to our transformed supercenter,” Supercenter manager Norm Miller said. “From the beautiful community focused mural to polished concrete floors, new front-end checkouts, expanded apparel and pet departments and more we are able to make our customers’ shopping experience more seamless and enjoyable.”

Miller said customers were able to enjoy improvements including:

  • A newly painted building inside and out.
  • Expanded grocery and health and beauty products.
  • New front-end layout to enhance check out.
  • Updated vision center.
  • New apparel displays.
  • Expanded delivery options.
  • Expanded and upgraded electronics department.
  • Expanded and updated Grab-and-Go section.
  • New flooring to replace the existing tile.
  • New lighting and signage throughout the store making it easier for customers to navigate.
  • Enhanced pet department.

The Surprise Walmart Supercenter transformation is a part of Walmart’s Signature Experience, which seeks to inspire customers and elevate their in-store experience.

Upgrades at the store include activated corners, which are displays that are featured at the corners of certain departments to pull customers in and help them touch, feel, and become a part of the space, allowing them to discover all that Walmart has to offer.

Additional upgrades include elevated departments, which transforms the supercenter feature displays to showcase products out of their boxes so customers can imagine them fitting into their daily lives.
