The Sun City West Witches have just posed for and printed “Calendars for a Cause,” which can be purchased for $15. All models are Sun City West residents and proceeds will be distributed to various nonprofit organizations that support the community. Email scwwitchesrideaz@gmail.com.
In addition, the group has started a “rock drop” throughout Sun City West. Several Witches gathered and hand painted more than 300 rocks advertising their Oct. 24 SCW Witches Ride. Beginning Oct. 15, witches will hit the trail and randomly and gently drop rocks here and there, in cellophane bags, throughout various neighborhoods. Let them know if one is found by email scwwitchesrideaz@gmail.com.
The official Witches Ride/Parade will take place 3:30-5 p.m. Oct. 24, beginning and ending at Beardsley Park. The parade will wind throughout certain designated streets of Sun City West. All interested residents (and visitors) can line the streets along the parade route on the day of the ride to cheer on the participants. Evening festivities will include the band Still Above Ground and Cory McCloskey, of Fox 10.
Visit benevilla.org/scwwitchesride for more information.
Sun City West’s ICON Golf Carts has donated three of their golf cars (with drivers) to escort 15 witches without golf cars along the parade route.
