Bill Schwind is leaving Sun City West. I am personally delighted. When I came to Sun City West, annual fees were in the $350 per year range, which was reasonable. They are now over $500 per year and going to head much higher in the next few years. This presently represents an increase of over 30% during his brief tenure, far exceeding even the accelerated inflation of the past few years
Mr. Schwind managed to oversee the closing of the Village store when there were probably alternatives and make it “administrative” space. Sun City West has many more “administrators” than Sun City, a much larger community. This can be confirmed easily by comparing full-time equivalent data from both communities in their respective budgets.
Be glad that you don’t get all the administration that you pay for in Sun City West.
