Lifelong Learning Club begins classes in Sun City

Posted

Lifelong Learning Club of Sun City President Michael Powell and Vice President Mary Jo Tietge remind members that a membership meeting and course registration for the fall term will take place 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Fairway Recreation Center.

All active members have received the fall course of studies listings by email and the roster can also be viewed on the Recreation Centers of Sun City website portal.

There are more than 30 classes offered and two field trips for consideration by members. Classes vary from art studies (including Mary Cassat, Rembrandt, art production and others), composition, history (including Iwo Jima, George Washington, Navajo History and Culture), music (Motown and even birdsong), personal development and self care (including financial management, consideration of one’s own moral compass and elder care) and current issues in shared culture (including news and issues, essential documents for Americans, women and the Supreme Court).

Field trips in the fall term include the Musical Instrument Museum and S’edav Va’aki Museum.

The Lifelong Learning Board announced that fees will not increase for the upcoming term, but will remain at $20, payable by cash or check at the time of registration. New members are welcome to join the club, which is devoted to learning opportunities of interest to Sun City residents.
