Joyce Erlene Neumeyer of Fountain Hills passed away on November 30, 2023.
Joyce was born on April 11, 1934 in the small town of Charter Oak, Iowa. During high school she was a star player on the basketball team and graduated as class valedictorian. It was during her junior year she met her husband-to-be, Dean, on a church hayride. They married five years later after his return from the Korean War, and recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
Joyce and Dean moved to several locations during his career with Campbell Soup Company. She participated in many corporate activities including hosting a dinner for the National Cooking contest winner.
After retiring, they moved to Arizona following their children and grandchildren, and were very fortunate to have the entire family together in Arizona. Joyce and Dean spent time traveling the world and have visited all 50 states as well as 35 countries.
Joyce became an accomplished bridge player and served 12 years as the bridge organizer at the Fountain Hills Community Center.
Joyce is survived by her husband Dean, daughter Cindy, son David and his wife Pam, and grandchildren Dan and Eryn - all still living in Arizona.
Joyce will be remembered as a loving wife and caring mother. She loved family traditions and always kept them alive. She always had a warm and friendly smile for everyone she met.
The family will be together for a private celebration of life. Any memorial donations may be made to the Joy Christian Community Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd, Fountain Hills in Joyce’s name.
