Joeseph Barocas

Jerry is a New York native and holds a degree in management. He started his career working for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Manhattan. In 1973 he transferred to Wichita, Kansas with his family. It was there that Jerry played a key role as a Project Manager responsible for systems development and establishing a regional computer center. As a result of his long service in the insurance industry, Jerry received the prestigious Fellow of the Life Office Management Institute.
Throughout his career, Jerry always had time to play an active role in the community. In his early days, he was a member of the New York Inter-Boro Council for Nursery Children. During his years in Kansas, he was President of the Administrative Management Society, co-chaired the Kanas Business Expo and was a business advisor to the Kansas Ser Corp.
After nearly 25 years in Wichita, Jerry retired in 1996 and moved to Sun City West where he continues his love of community service. He chaired the Long-Range Planning Transportation Committee of the Sun City West Recreation Centers Board, served on the PORA Membership Committee and was active in the Sun City West Coalition. Jerry has been a long-term member of the RISE Governing Council and serves with distinction on a number of its committees.
