Dan W. O’Brien

Dan, 85, of Sun City, AZ, and formally from Moline, IL, passed on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
A Celebration of Life was held October 13, 2023, at the Viking Club 1450, 41st Street, Moline, IL from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M.
Dan was born on July 14, 1938 in McMinnville, TN to Wm O’Brien and Cornelia (Foster) O’Brien.
Dan graduated from Moline High School in 1958. He earned a BA from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College and a Master’s Degree from Northern Illinois University.
He married Kathy (Liske) April 1963. Dan taught school at John Deere Jr. High and Arrowhead Ranch in Coal Valley for 29 years.
Dan is survived by his wife, Kathy of sixty years; his children, Ron (Kim) Davenport and Sean (Tammy) Moline; grandchildren: Justin, Nicholas, Cacey (Hannah), Mckenzie, Conner and Logan; and great-grandson, Jaxon.
Dan was predeceased by his parents; and brothers: Don (twin), George, Lee, Bill, and Jim.
Dan enjoyed golfing and fishing. He passed that passion on to his sons and grandkids. He enjoyed family time that included many laughs, games and drinks to be had.
Dan was a dedicated husband, father (in-law), grandpa and great-grandpa and will be greatly missed.
