Buckeye police expand search for woman missing since May

Authorities have expanded a search for a 46-year-old woman who has been missing since May 22 after she was last seen near Interstate 10 between Verrado and Watson Road.

Police recently contacted a specialized forensic interviewer to talk to the woman’s son, who is autistic with limited communication, saying they gained additional details and are searching farther north of the highway.

Police were notified that Hope Tucker was missing on June 22 when they discovered she had been gone for a month.

Tucker and her son were driving on the morning of May 22 when the car they were in broke down, police said.

Her son was found May 24 and hospitalized for about a month. He was then placed in the care of a family member who called Phoenix police after he told her what had happened.

Buckeye authorities were notified, and the search began.

Anyone with information on Tucker’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 or submit a tip online at www.buckeyeaz.gov/crimetip.
