Scottsdale Bar Association celebrates 50th anniversary

Posted

The Scottsdale Bar Association celebrated its 50th anniversary with a sold-out black tie dinner and dancing event Oct. 21 at the Western Spirit: Scottdale’s Museum of the West, 3830 N. Marshall Way.

This milestone event brought together legal professionals, judges, charter members and dignitaries from across the state of Arizona. The evening commenced with a reception at the Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West where attendees were treated to an exhibition of the history and culture of the American west.

One of the evening's highlights was the presentation of the Scottsdale Bar Association's Award of Excellence to Arizona Supreme Court Justice Ann Timmer. Timmer received this accolade in recognition of her commitment to the principles of justice, her contributions to the legal profession and her dedication to the betterment of the Scottsdale legal community. Thanks to attendees’ donations, the City of Scottdale’s Paiute Center was a recipient of members’ generosity.

In her remarks, Scottsdale Bar Association President Lori Metcalf expressed her gratitude to all members and supporters of the association. Attorney and civic leader Jim Bruner shared the museum’s history with a captivated audience.

The 50th-anniversary celebration was made possible through the support of sponsors and donors. The event was organized by the Scottsdale Bar Association’s Board of Directors.
