Opinion: Sen. Christine Marsh is a friend to the Jewish community

Posted

We are proud members of the North Valley Jewish community and constituents of Sen. Christine Marsh.

Sen. Marsh has been a friend to the Jewish community in Arizona both before and during her time in office. She taught many of our kids. She has been a strong supporter of ensuring that our history ― including the Holocaust ― is taught.

She voted to increase Holocaust education in 2021, voted to support the new Holocaust Museum and voted in support of a Holocaust Study Committee Bill.

Ironically, her objection to the bill referenced on street signs stems from her belief that the hours/days allotted in the bill were insufficient to cover the Holocaust and other genocides. The mandated hours devoted to Holocaust education are arbitrary and without the involvement of curriculum experts. Attacks to the contrary are dishonest and disgraceful. Her opponents know that.

We know Sen. Marsh and the values she holds. We stand with her against these vile attacks and know that she will remain a friend to the Jewish community in Arizona and in LD4.
