Shinkoskey: Propaganda sleek and believable

Posted

Propaganda is sleek and believable, manipulative and evil. It is “information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.” It commonly happens in war time.

Because U.S. defense policy favors a Jewish society over a Muslim one, the Biden administration can unfairly characterize campus protests as “pro-Palestinian protests” as opposed to their actual nature as “anti-war protests.” Police agencies can then crack down hard on them.

Shortly after October 7, Netanyahu cried out, “Israel is at war. Israel did not want this war. It was forced upon us.” (Frontline, 5-29-24) Israel’s citizens and soldiers may not have wanted the war, but Netanyahu certainly did.

He ignored many credible intelligence reports and allowed the “surprise” attack to happen just so he could whip up war fever among the citizenry, save his failing administration, and position himself as the great protector of Israel. He forced his intelligence chief to resign when all the reports of precise prior knowledge of the attack became known.
