A 30-year-old man is in custody three months after Phoenix police said he was the suspect in the shooting death of a 43-year-old woman.

Xavier Hughley was arrested June 25 near 31st and West Campbell avenues, police said Tuesday.

On April 9, Amanda George died from injuries sustained in a late March shooting that left her hospitalized, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

Hughley was booked on charges of first-degree murder and misconduct involving weapons.
