The city of Peoria is hosting a homeless outreach event, Oct. 3.

The city of Peoria is hosting an event that will provide free resources to those experiencing homelessness, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Rio Vista Recreation Center, 8866 W. Thunderbird Road.
This event will offer free access to vital resources:
Shelter & Housing
Hygiene Kits, Showers, and Haircuts
Veterans Resources
Medical & Dental Care
Social Security Assistance & ID Services
Domestic Violence & Mental Health Support
Food & Clothing
AHCCCS Enrollment
Pet Care & Supplies
Earlier this year, Maricopa Association of Governments released numbers from the 2024 Point-in-Time homeless count, revealing a total of 138 people experienced homelessness on the night of Jan. 22 in Peoria.
This included 82 unsheltered individuals and 56 sheltered individuals.
Last year, the total count was 98 individuals, with 92 unsheltered individuals and six sheltered individuals. Since then, the city has had access to more shelter beds.
