A liquor license is being sought for a one-day Ascendants Inc. event to be held in November in Mesa.

The Mesa City Council at a meeting at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at 57 E. First St. is slated to make a recommendation to the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control for the event to be held 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at Desert Wind Harley Davidson, 922 S. Country Club
Drive in Mesa.

It is to be held in conjunction with the Desert Wind Harley Davidson event titled “Chicano Pride Run,” according to the license application.

“Four off-duty officers, American Patriots Riders Club’s staff and Harley Owners Group members will provide roaming security and liquor control within the enclosed event area,” it states. “Identification will be checked at the event entrance and wristbands issued to attendees of legal drinking age. Liquor will only be served to attendees that display a wristband. 100% of the proceeds will go to Ascendants Inc.”
