The Dysart Unified School District recently announced the winners of the district spelling bee, which was conducted virtually this year.

In second place was Angelie Huynh from Luke Elementary and placing third was Alexandra Silea from Freedom Traditional Academy.
The top five spellers, concluding Gavin Coombs from Sonoran Heights Elementary School and Jordan Binazeski from Canyon Ridge School, advanced to the region competition, which was Feb. 16 to 18.
