ASU West in Glendale sees 25% enrollment increase for fall

New residential community at capacity

Posted

Enrollment of new first-year, transfer and master’s students increased by 25% on ASU’s West Valley campus in Glendale, the university reported Thursday.

ASU is adding new buildings to accommodate that growth, including the Casa del Valle residential community, which opens this fall. It features 507 double-occupancy, suite-styled units; a social lounge; Zen areas; study halls; a creation hub; and a landscaped courtyard.

Students start moving in Saturday morning, Aug. 17.

Senior Gabe Heraty is moving into Casa Del Valle. He’s studying supply chain management and business entrepreneurship at the W. P. Carey School of Business.

“I'm super excited. You hear about the new building and the new rooms and you wonder what it’s going to be like,” Heraty shared in a press release. “But then just the other day I had a chance to tour the rooms and they’re brand new and modern.”

ASU’s West Valley campus, at 4701 W. Thunderbird Road, also has three new schools this fall: the School of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the W. P. Carey School of Business; the School of Interdisciplinary Forensics in the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences; and the School of Integrated Engineering in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

A new academic complex is in construction and will focus on developing a network of community groups with an emphasis on diversity in perspectives and approaches, the university also states. The groups will include representatives from preschool, K–12, higher education, community-based organizations, business, students, nonprofits, donors and other sectors.

That building is scheduled to open in 2025.

ASU’s West Valley campus offers more than 125 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
