Hilton will plant LivSmart hotel in downtown Glendale

Posted

Downtown Glendale will be the home of Hilton’s first LivSmart Studios in Arizona.

LivSmart by Hilton is the hotel chain's 24th and newest brand.

The property will help provide lodging to support Glendale’s Civic Center for overnight conferences and events and annual visitors to Glendale’s downtown looking for modern accommodations. It will also serve as a hospitality option for Glendale’s Sports & Entertainment District to the west.

“As we continue to expand the brand’s footprint nationwide, we are excited to introduce LivSmart Studios by Hilton to Glendale and see how it will contribute to the city’s growing economic goals, business efforts, and local community,” stated Isaac Lake, brand leader of LivSmart Studios by Hilton.

This month, the Glendale City Council approved a ground lease agreement with CivicGroup, LLC for the city-owned property at 7120-7128 N. 57th Ave. The property is comprised of four parcels encompassing approximately 28,000 square feet directly adjacent to the Glendale Civic Center.

Arizona-based CivicGroup is the developer.

“We are thrilled to be bringing their exceptional new brand to Downtown Glendale. This is a testament to city leadership and their revitalization efforts,” stated Chris DeRose, President of CivicGroup.

As part of a long-term downtown strategy, Glendale’s City Council approved the Downtown Campus Reinvestment Project, now under construction. The project is the largest investment made by the city in this area, to support existing businesses and bring new investment into the city’s center.

"We are thrilled that Hilton chose downtown Glendale for their first Arizona LivSmart property," said Daniel Sabillon, deputy director of economic development. "This hotel represents the opportunity and growth we want to see in downtown.”

The new LivSmart Studios property will have more than 90 modern studio apartment-style suites. Amenities include a fitness center, laundry facility and a neighborhood feel.

The hotel will also cater to the local community by offering job opportunities and partnerships with local businesses.

Chris Swan, managing partner of BRP, will serve as the project’s architect. BRP designed the Renaissance and Aloft at Westgate, both in Glendale's entertainment district, along with over 20 other hotels in the state.

Construction will be managed by Antonia Botero, who has built more than 200 branded hotels.
