Downtown Glendale seeks artistic sticker designs

The Historic Downtown Glendale Merchants Association is calling on artisans to participate in the inaugural Historic Downtown Glendale sticker contest.

Artisans ages 10 and older are invited to create an image that they think best represents the century-old downtown. All art mediums are welcome.

Historic Downtown Glendale features an array of inspiration for artisans, including unique historic architecture, award winning art installations, landscaping, brick-lined streetscapes and decorative storefronts.

The Historic Downtown Glendale sticker contest program runs from today through Sept. 30. There will be three winners picked from the entries received by that date.

A panel of judges will review the stickers and winners will be announced in October. Winning entries will be turned into stickers to be featured in the locally-owned shops downtown.

Sticker collecting has become a global hobby. Collectors exchange and trade stickers, attend sticker conventions and engage in online communities to connect with fellow enthusiasts.

The sticker contest is in partnership with the GFWC Glendale Woman’s Club. The club is sponsoring the top three awards.

GFWC Glendale Woman’s Club is dedicated to community improvement by enhancing lives of through volunteer service. They are one of the longest running nonprofit community service organizations in Arizona, with a clubhouse is 7032 N. 56th Ave. in downtown Glendale.
