Glendale will unveil new office for community service

Posted

Glendale’s Community Services Department, in collaboration with the Glendale Elementary School District System of Care Center, will celebrate the opening of its new office location at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, in the Glendale Elementary School District System of Care Center, 7677 W. Bethany Home Road, Building.

Residents will be able to access a "one-stop-shop" for seeking housing support, rental assistance, home repairs and connections to other partner programs to meet basic needs at this new office.

Next week's event is a combination open house and ribbon-cutting for new centralized services in a campus setting with other service providers. Mayor Jerry Weiers and other city leaders will speak.

Tours of the renovated, approximately 12,000-square-foot space are available.

This partnership with the Glendale Elementary School District allows city services to be on a campus setting with other human services providers, creating a comprehensive approach to achieving family self-sufficiency and sustainability, officials said.

City services at the campus will include an array of resident-based programs, including community engagement, strategic partnerships, crisis assistance, housing programs, community development investments, emergency home repair, crisis assistance and active case management programs.
