O.H.S.O. Brewery gets behind Save the Clare House effort

Posted

O.H.S.O. Brewery is helping HD South's effort to move the historic Clare House within the Heritage District to the museum's grounds.

First, guests at the brewery can round up their checks to support HD South  through July 31. That effort began July 19. O.H.S.O. also will match the roundup donation up to $500.

Second, the brewery is hosting a fundraiser for the museum today, July 25, from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. in which 20% of the sales will go toward the #SavetheClare effort. That includes liquor and beer to go sales.

The home, built in 1918, was the homestead site the Clare family and more recently of Bergies Coffee Roast House in the heart of the Heritage District at 309 N. Gilbert Road until the owners decided to retire and sold the property to WAGS Capital.

The plan, as outlined by Gilbert Redevelopment Commission Chairperson Casey Kendel during public comment at Gilbert Town Council's meeting April 2, calls for relocating the home to the grounds at HD South, 10 S. Gilbert Road, about a half-mile from where the home sits.

Organizers have been given until Aug. 1 to raise the $135,000 needed to move the home and thus far have raised more than $25,000.

From July 19th – July 31st OHSO guests can round up their checks to support HD SOUTH! OHSO will match the round-up donation amount up to $500.
