Coronado, Centennial elementary schools have new principals

Two more elementary schools in the Higley Unified School District have opened the new school year with new principals.

Brian Griggs is the new principal at Coronado Elementary School while Amanda Day has started leadership at Centennial Elementary School.

Griggs has been a part of the Higley Unified School District for nine years. Before coming to HUSD, he taught in Gilbert Public Schools for 12 years. He also took the role as the interim principal this past semester at Power Ranch Elementary.

Day has 11 years of experience in the field of education at HUSD, serving in various roles including elementary teacher, gifted and talented specialist coach, dean of students, and most recently, assistant principal at Higley Traditional Academy.
