Sports events, camps for kids this summer in southeast Valley

Schools in Florence and San Tan Valley will be offering a number of sports camps and events for kids in the coming weeks.

Circle Cross Ranch K-8 will be hosting Rise Athletics’ Kids Summer Basketball camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 3-6 at 35900 N. Charbray, San Tan Valley. For more information, visit www.riseathletics.com. Lunch will be provided.

Mountain Vista Academy will be holding free physicals for all student athletes in grades 7-12 for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. The physicals will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 18 at 33622 N. Mountain Vista Blvd. in San Tan Valley. Registration is required. Poston Butte High School will be hosting a basketball academy by Reach Academy starting June 3. There will be two academies – one for students in second-fifth grade and a second for sixth through eighth grade. The clinics will be held at 32375 N. Gantzel Road, San Tan Valley. Florence High School will be hosting summer volleyball for students from sixth to 12th grade. The camp runs from May 13th to mid-July at 1000 S. Finally, San Tan Foothills High School will be hosting a wrestling camp from 10 to 11:15 a.m., June 3-6 at 1255 W. Silverdale Road, San Tan Valley. The camp is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade, regardless of experience level. The cost is $20 per student. Sign up online at https://az-florenceunified.intouchreceipting.com/.
