Keep Chandler a beacon of nonpartisanship and progress

Posted

Hello, I’m OD Harris, and I am honored to be a candidate for re-election to Chandler City Council.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of serving this incredible community, working alongside many of you on projects that matter deeply to us all.

As your representative, I’ve always believed in focusing on what truly impacts our daily lives rather than getting caught up in political noise. In today’s world, where misinformation and divisive rhetoric are rampant, staying grounded in facts and working towards the common good is crucial.

I am deeply grateful for the endorsements from the police and fire departments, which reflect my unwavering commitment to public safety.

Similarly, the Chandler Chamber of Commerce’s support underscores my ability to unite people, regardless of their background or political beliefs, to support our local businesses and economy.

We have fantastic prosperity in Chandler with over 8,000 new jobs created, multi-billion dollar expansions of Intel, post-secondary education like the University of Arizona, GCU, ASU, etc.

While supporting our local students and being a champion of mental health awareness and implementing its first-ever mental health awareness walk in Chandler, we're addressing the needs of our homeless by not criminalizing our unsheltered population but providing resources, creating options and not allowing unwanted loitering and solicitation.

During my tenure on the City Council, I have championed diversity and inclusion  — not to divide us, but to ensure fairness and opportunity for everyone in our community. As stated by the Constitution, “All men are created equal.”

I’ve lowered taxes, supported strategic housing projects, made smart water investments, and continued to work on Chandler’s infrastructure, knowing that we are a city with over 100 years of history.

I am proud to serve as Chandler's vice mayor — a reflection of my leadership that was supported by the council.

Don’t let fearmongering and divisive rhetoric distract us from our shared goals. I am a pragmatic leader dedicated to Chandler’s success, and I believe in the power of inclusivity and progress.

By supporting me, you’re supporting a vision of a brighter future for all of us.

It’s concerning to see efforts to introduce partisan agendas that threaten to overshadow our city’s nonpartisan spirit. Effective leadership should always prioritize practical solutions over political posturing.

I stand for rational governance, focusing on what truly matters for Chandler and its residents. While some may try to inject partisan politics into our local elections, I remain committed to nonpartisanship — as Arizona law mandates.

Together, let’s reject the politicization of our local elections and embrace the principles of rational governance. I am a leader who prioritizes practical solutions and ensures that Chandler remains a beacon of nonpartisanship and progress for years to come.

I appreciate your support..
