The Partnership for Economic Innovation, a collective of business and community leaders dedicated to accelerating Arizona’s economic opportunities, recently announced the winners of its second annual Arizona Champions of Innovation Awards.

One of the recipients this year is from Chandler. It’s Sen. J.D. Mesnard.

The others are Sen. Flavio Bravo of Phoenix, Rep. Justin Wilmeth of North Phoenix and Rep. Alma Hernandez of Tucson.

They were recognized for their “leadership and contributions to promoting innovation and strategic economic growth in Arizona,” according to a news release from PEI.

Winners of the awards were selected by a committee of PEI board members based on the criteria that each awardee demonstrated an understanding of Arizona’s innovation economy, showcased their commitment to growing innovation, championed support for building world-class education institutions and demonstrated leadership for driving industry-led solutions that address challenges faced by Arizona businesses, the release stated.
