VOLUNTEERISM: GPS welcomes support in 2018

Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!

I want to thank each and every one for all the help this year. We are on track to introduce over 10,000 kids to golf this school year thanks to the help of so many of you. We are in the planning process of doing a fund-raising event this summer.

I will ride my motorcycle over 17,500 miles in less than 20 days. Going in all 48 states plus Alaska then riding it in reverse. If anyone has experience in using Facebook and other social media to track my progress please contact me here I will be 80 years old when the ride begins next July. You can contact me at 623-933-8401 or tom@suncitycountryclub.org.

I appreciate your support. From having the kids in our schools win the state individual state championship to the Kellis High golf team winning their regional and going to the state championship, you can see why we are excited about our program. Helping over 10,000 kids find their right path through golf this year is a win for all of us.

Why I’m writing you today is we need help to grow into our vision of being in all 241 Westside schools. Introduce every fourth-nineth grade student to the life lessons from golf with scholarships and career opportunities that are available. Laura Robb from Raymond James accepted the Chair position for GPS Advisory Council. We are in the process of recruiting volunteers for specific categories to help us leverage and move our efforts forward. Presently, we have filled the following categories: financial, banker, marketing and fundraiser.

We have identified the following needed professional categories: social media, teacher, coach, attorney, business owner, entrepreneur, sales, sports business, CPA, Realtor, golf retail business, human resources, insurance, printer, mortgage company, superintendent, principal, college student who plays golf.

Would you like to help transform a students life by volunteering two hours a month and join our efforts in expanding GPS?Please contact me.
