The 9th Annual Dog Days of Glendale will take place 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 6 and turn downtown’s Murphy Park, at 58th and Glendale avenues, into a playground for dogs and their people.

Pet owners and their furry friends will enjoy more than 50 pet-related exhibitors, low cost pet immunizations, pet blessings, pet adoptions, dog-friendly interactive activities including free Doga (dog yoga) classes, Bark Buster fun zone, Glendale P.D. K-9 training demonstration, pet food sampling and frozen doggie treats. New this year, an interactive prize cube experience sponsored by the Historic Downtown Glendale Merchants Association will provide event attendees opportunities to win coupons and prizes from local businesses.

The event’s Top Dog sponsor is Midwestern University’s Companion Animal Clinic. They will be on site with information about their Companion Animal Clinic services. Other event sponsors include Arizona Health & Living Magazine, The Astrology Store, Bears & More, BigAZ Promotions, Bitz-ee Mama’s Restaurant, Glendale Chamber of Commerce, Historic Downtown Glendale Merchants Association, IZO Studios, Phoenix Dog Magazine Republic Services, Suja and Signarama.

The Dog Days of Glendale event includes a donation drive for pet food and supplies to benefit the Animals & Humans in Disaster-Empty Bowl Pet Food Pantry. Visit for a wish list of items needed.

Admission and parking are free. Event attendees are encouraged to start at the Historic Downtown Glendale Merchants Association Portable Information Booth (fondly nicknamed Mrs. PIB) to pick up a list of the day’s activities. The booth will be centrally located in Murphy Park.

The event is coordinated by Ropin’ the West, Papa Ed’s Ice Cream and Out of the Blue AZ. To contact the event coordinators, please send an email to or call 480-266-0091.
