Theater Works to host ‘Beast’ auditions

Theater Works will host “Beauty and the Beast” auditions Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3 at 10580 N. 83rd Drive. Those interested can sign up for scheduled slots at

Auditions are open to performers ages 8-19 years old, and should prepare 32 bars of a musical theater selection that best highlight their vocal range. No acapella auditions. No accompanist will be provided. Please bring accompaniment electronically (i.e. an mp3). Speakers and aux cables will be provided.

“Step into the enchanted world of Broadway’s modern classic, Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ an international sensation that played a remarkable 13-year run on Broadway and has been produced in 37 countries worldwide,” the Peoria theater states. “Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over 13 years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Theater Works, Youth Works will be performing the full Broadway production, not a JR version.”

Callbacks for vocal/acting is March 5; and March 6 for dance. The production runs May 3-19.

There is a $150 production fee for cast members. Some dance-only roles are available.
