Seven members of the Recreation Centers of Sun City West Governing Board have announced they are seeking election to one of the four leadership positions on the board for the 2019-20 year. There are nine members on the board. The terms of Bob Garrett and Anita DeGumbia expire June 30.
Jim Sloan, RCSCW governing board president, announced a few weeks ago he wanted each person who wanted to declare to do so at the governing board workshop meeting on April 12, and give a short talk about why they were suitable for the position.
The four positions are president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. The votes will be conducted at the monthly governing board meeting on April 25.
All seven of the returning board members indicated they would be seeking one or more of the offices
Jim Sloan indicated he wanted a second year as president, Bryan Walus is seeking either the president or vice president position, George Kuchtyak is seeking the vice president position, Tim Hurley is seeking any of the four positions, Jim Young and Gerry Connor said they will seek the treasurer position and Sue Fitzsimons said she wants to run for secretary.
Other nominations may be made at the April 25 meeting before the ballots are counted.
